Folsom Lake after work

I went for a quick fishing trip after work yesterday with Andrew and caught a couple fish. Folsom lake is only about 1/2 mile from our home and it doesn’t get dark until around 9:30ish this time of year… I got home around 4:45, loaded a cooler with a few drinks, grabbed the tackle box, a couple poles and Andrew and I were off. We parked at a boat launch area at Browns ravine, walked out to a nearby cove/point and enjoyed a few hours fishing until sunset. Although Andrew is getting really good at baiting his own hooks and casting… the bass didn’t seem interested in his nite crawlers. We caught a smaller Spotted Bass on a plastic worm, then on the next cast we caught the beauty in this pic., a really nice Small Mouth Bass. Andrew said he felt like he was getting pulled in the lake when he was fighting the fish… We were both having a great time and then while walking back to the car He made my day when he said this;
“My new most favorite thing to do is go fishing with Daddy.“
