With the water level at Folsom Lake finally starting to stabilize and the fishing starting to pick up a bit, I thought my boys and I would venture out to the lake on Saturday after-noon,.. It’s only about a 1/2 mile/2min from our house. We arrived at Browns Ravine and decided we would fish an area we have not fished since last Summer because the water has not been high enough. Not the case anymore!
We did not need to venture far and found what looked to be a pretty good spot. I got the boys set up with a couple plastic worms and off they went about 10 yards away. They really don’t have the patience yet to work those worms properly, especially this time of year, but what the heck ya never know.
After about 10 min. they were bored, rods set down, and were chasing each other up and down the shoreline, making tracks/jumps for the matchbox Monster Trucks they brought with them. So I switched out their plastic worms for real ones set one up on a bobber, the other on the bottom and cast them back out. I continued to fish around the area and we did make one move, but no fish today. Then the, “We’re ready to go home Daddy.” I cherish those days with them and I really look forward to the days when we are all catching multiple fish…
